In 1619, the year of Louis XIII’s 18th birthday, the summer was scorching. At this time the king finds pleasure to make several stays in the castle of Champchevrier on the way of his visits to his brother Gaston of Orleans. These are carefree parentheses for Louis XIII, far from the quarrels of power with his mother Marie de Medici.
  
Herouard, royal doctor, tells us very precisely in his diary the schedule of the young king in Champchevrier, especially an anecdote: August 24 after dinner at the castle Louis XIII could not sleep on the bed of satin that had him was prepared and asked for fresh straw to lie down!
  
This story is the pretext of theatrical scenes that will enamor the magical candlelit visits of the castle.
